Fantasy Time Inc. by Sherri Rabinowitz seems a highly imaginative story that tells of a future where time travel is not only possible, but is used as an entertaining form of vacation. The impact that such a trip could possibly have on the timeline is not ignored; no, such a vacation can only be taken with a guide who protects not only the tourist, but also the era that has been traveled to.

The story tells of two trips that are taken to the past on Earth. One is for a woman that dreams of immersing herself in the pre-Civil War luxury of Scarlet O’Hara. The other is when a humanoid alien from a static uneventful planet wants to enjoy the excitement of the Roaring Twenty’s. This book also tells the  story of the tour-guide Anne and how she is chased across time by a could-be lover from her future, a man who calls himself Captain Morgan.

All of the time travelers are trapped with the knowledge that their playful indulgence must be kept enough in check to avoid irreversible changes to the timeline. Knowledge of such a rule doesn’t make the avoidance of any meaningful relationships to magically be easier, however. How would you avoid your feelings if told that your love can’t be allowed? It’s a question to make you reconsider just how fanciful this tale may be.
